ravyn is the video editor I make my reels with. It runs in your browser and works like Premiere: a timeline, cuts, captions timed to your voice, one-click render. Claude Code edits the same project with you, and every note you leave becomes a rule, so it learns your taste. Below: what is inside, how to download it, and how to make your first reel.

PART 1

What is inside

One folder. You open it in Claude Code and talk to it.

PART 2

Download it

STEP 1Open the repo: github.com/RahmanBuildsAI/ravyn-reel-kit
STEP 2On the right, under Releases, click the latest one and download ravyn-reel-kit.zip. (Or the green Code button, then Download ZIP.)
STEP 3Right-click the zip, Extract All, and put the folder somewhere easy, like Documents\reel-studio. Do not run it from inside the zip.

PART 3

Install the free tools

About 20 minutes, once. Windows only for now. Press the Windows key, type powershell, press Enter. Paste each command, press Enter, and wait for it to finish before the next one. Close and reopen PowerShell after the installs so it finds the new programs.

Two honest notes. Whisper is big (a few GB) because it brings PyTorch, so let it run. And Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan: Pro or Max works. Run claude once after step 6 and log in.

Already use Claude Code? You only need Node 18+, ffmpeg and pip install openai-whisper. Skip to Part 4.

Every step, with fixes for the common errors, is in docs/SETUP.md inside the kit.

PART 4

Test it, then open ravyn

Two files at the top of the kit folder. Just double-click them.

TESTRender example.bat builds and renders the example reel (a minute or two), then opens the folder. If example-kit-tour-v1.mp4 plays, everything is installed right.
OPENOpen ravyn.bat starts the editor and opens it in your browser at localhost:3140. Keep its window open while you edit. Close it to stop ravyn.

PART 5

Make your first reel

Open the kit folder in Claude Code (in PowerShell: cd into the folder, then type claude). Then say these two things, in order:

SAY THIS FIRST
Read CLAUDE.md and help me fill in the About me section.
THEN THIS
Make my first reel. Walk me through it.

The first one matters most: it is what makes the scripts sound like you. After that, this is how you talk to it:

"find me a topic"searches your niche, scores every story, writes a brief with sources
"write a reel about X"12 hooks, the best one wins, a beat-by-beat script, captions, post copy
"build reel 1"a still board of every scene first, then the cut in ravyn after your notes
"break down this video"any reference reel becomes measured numbers and a new style
"I hate that transition"becomes a rule, after your yes, so it never happens again

Using Cursor, Codex or Gemini CLI instead? They read AGENTS.md in the kit.

NOT FOUND'node' is not recognized or the same for ffmpeg: close and reopen PowerShell. Still failing? Run that install step again.
PORTravyn says the port is in use: it is already running in another window. Open ravyn.bat just opens that one.
RENDERA render stops halfway: close other heavy apps and render again.
